Marco Galeotti a.k.a Gale (Ravenna, 1978) vive e lavora a Punta Marina Terme (RA).

Attivo da più di vent'anni nella musica underground, desideroso di esprimersi con una nuova forma d'arte, comincia il suo percorso nelle arti visive nel 2017, senza nessuna formazione artistica.

L’elemento caratterizzante delle sue opere è il legno, usato sia come base della propria pittura, che come protagonista delle proprie sculture ed installazioni; principalmente il legno è di recupero, scarti di lavorazioni, imballi, legno spiaggiato.

Affascinato dall'arte informale e dall'espressionismo astratto, ama comunicare attraverso forme e colori; Gale non è alla ricerca della perfezione o del controllo assoluto.

Al contrario, ama le crepe e le fratture, ama l'irregolarità e l'indefinizione.

Le sue sorprendenti composizioni esprimono spesso contrasti e irrequietezza, traducendo qualcosa che è allo stesso tempo aspro e forte.

La materia è al centro del suo linguaggio artistico, sia essa l'irregolarità del legno, inerti come sabbia, terra o sassi, stucco, gesso o grossi strati di colore, la tridimensionalità, lievemente accennata o più pronunciata è sempre presente sulle sue tavole; nella sua ridotta produzione scultorea invece troviamo materiali poveri come ferro arrugginito e legno di recupero in contrasto con l'elemento che più rappresenta la ricchezza, l'oro.

Quasi ossessionato da pochi colori ricorrenti ed assolutamente reticente ad altri, la sua produzione è sì eterogenea, ma legata da un senso di continuità emotiva e da un immaginario coerente.

Marco Galeotti a.k.a Gale (Ravenna, 1978) lives and works in Punta Marina Terme (RA).

Active for more than twenty years in underground music, eager to express himself with a new art form, he began his journey in the visual arts in 2017, without any artistic training.

The characterizing element of his works is wood, used both as the basis of his painting and as the protagonist of his sculptures and installations; mainly the wood is recycled, processing waste, packaging, beached wood.

Fascinated by informal art and abstract expressionism, he loves to communicate through shapes and colors; Gale is not after perfection or absolute control.

On the contrary, he loves the cracks and fractures, he loves the irregularity and the indefiniteness.

His striking compositions often express contrasts and restlessness, translating something that is both harsh and strong.

Matter is at the center of his artistic language, be it the irregularity of wood, inert materials such as sand, earth or stones, stucco, plaster or large layers of colour, the three-dimensionality, slightly hinted at or more pronounced, is always present on his tables ; in his limited sculptural production, on the other hand, we find poor materials such as rusty iron and recycled wood in contrast with the element that best represents wealth, gold.

Almost obsessed with a few recurring colors and absolutely reticent to others, his production is heterogeneous, but linked by a sense of emotional continuity and a coherent imagery.
