"Tribal Carriage"

Despite the tank-like wheels of this carriage, it's a custom-designed cart, complete with its red rearview mirror, the number 5 printed on the body, and that white and red stripe at the bottom, reminiscent of the Italian style for turbo or racing cars from the "Abarth" brand. Notably, the headlight is borrowed from the classic Ducati motorcycle, all printed in an earthy reddish color that blends into a subtly different background than the figure's color. This piece was created on 150-gram paper and delicately treated with an acrylic base. Essentially, I used acrylic colors, watercolors, and some colored pastels.

Technique:

Acrylic paints, watercolor touches, and some delicate touches of dry colors.

..........

Enrico Napoletano, the son of Italian parents, was born in Venezuela in 1974. After exhibiting in numerous galleries and receiving recognition for his artworks in his native country, he returned to Italy as an architect with a master's degree in Philosophy, specifically in the city of art, Florence, to continue his artistic education.

During his stay in Florence, he won the first prize for the best sculpture, an award bestowed upon him by the former director of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Professor Domenico Viggiano.

He continued his journey throughout Italy, exhibiting in cities like Rome, Spoleto, Turin, among others, and participating in various events, including the Cannes International Fair. He was interviewed by the US-based magazine Voyage Houston, which featured him in their biweekly publication in the Art & Life section. He was also selected for an exclusive catalog curated by Dr. Elena Gollini, an art expert, who wrote an excellent critical review of his work.

His creations are the result of immense psychological and intellectual processing, a synthesis of lived experiences that have managed to strip away the unnecessary and gather what is fundamental to him. In this process, he recognized that he doesn't paint what he sees but illustrates what he feels or imagines, this combined with his cultural baggage, given that he is an architect, philosopher, and author of two published poetry books.

He emptied the room and filled it with shapes that come spontaneously, these are composed of a variety of mechanical parts, which at times seem deconstructed, as if it were an inductive process or simply constructing non-existent forms. In recent years, he has given life to such a great variety of forms, allowing him to explore himself artistically and thus synthesize his language. This synthesis has led him to transform these mechanical parts into vehicles that can both exist and emerge entirely from within, creating his own toys.

Critical Review by Dr. Elena Gollini

Enrico Napoletano

In the visionary atmosphere, enveloped by a rarefied and ovate dimension, Enrico Napoletano finds his wellspring of creative inspiration, which unfolds through a representative perspective that echoes with meanings and subliminal messages inherent within the imaginative and fantastical scenery. Within the varied compositional folds, he delves into a proliferation of encrypted linguistic codes, articulated within a structure composed of enigmatic, mysterious, and unexpected conceptual paradigms. Alchemical intertwinings and mixtures of distant ancestral and primordial plots, evoking both past traditions and modern, innovative projections, come to life and mutually fuel each other with compelling dynamic energy. Matter comes alive in vibrant chromatic exuberance, shaped and molded in the creative gesture by Enrico's skilled hands, exploring and maximizing its communicative potentials across all interpretive formulas. The amalgamation and harmonious blending, as well as the deliberate contrast of elements and factors, bring forth a substantial depth that is further enhanced and intensified by the balanced and regulated optical perspectives, marking and governing the rhythmic cadence of figural sequences. From the engaging collective tension, a resounding echo of a new beginning emerges in full scope, the metaphorical genesis of the whole. The translated matter in painting speaks to us, alluding to scenarios that reference and reconnect with symbolic principles and values, contents that must be carefully dissected perceptively and receptively, analytically going beyond surface-level aesthetic impact.

In his works, Enrico seems to want to transcend the clear and defined boundary between abstract and figurative, moving towards a less categorical and more evolutionary expressive corollary. He moves with authoritative mastery and skillful ease, pushing the closed visual field beyond the canvas, seeking infinitely expanded spaces, new surprising realities, discovering traces of indelible memory that time doesn't erase, which revive in the reflective echoes of his captivating depictions.

Light, in its vibrant and expansive luminosity, is a decisive and impactful component for capturing the details and particulars of the choreography, in the substantial blend of material and the thickness of the texture that acquires plasticity, accentuating a pronounced two-dimensionality, hinting at the viewer a mixture of poignant emotional suggestions, dreamy illusions of great effect that the observer must grasp and decipher like dreams enclosed in a precious casket. Harmonies of color and forms in harmony. Harmonies, often latent and unexpressed within each of us in our most hidden and intimate self, sooner or later tend to manifest and surface. Enrico's creations are a continuation of these, translated into the essence of pure art, a logical evolutionary correspondence materialized in meticulous formal and coloristic research, which also becomes a kind of meticulous mathematical ideational design upstream. This is how the figures come together and merge, uniting in the lively and vivid chromatic rainbow, becoming a unified and uniform vision in their distinctive characteristics. The figural "agglomerations" are emphasized by lyrical tonal fantasies, infusing a sense of elegant and refined completeness in the juxtapositions. His visions are planimetric: every factor of ancient derivation is transformed with a new evocative form, recomposing it within the narrative with a different meaning, to accompany the viewer through the past towards novelty, reflecting on the present, while also looking towards the future.

All of this is placed in a skillful game that leads to multifaceted reflection on various meditative levels. Beyond history and tradition, the contemporary forcefully enters the structure built by Enrico, an artist-human rooted in existential principles, capturing emotions and imprinting them into the work with fervent enthusiasm and pulsating inner and spiritual transport. His pronounced creative sensitivity feeds on a spirit of sharing and a desire for connection with the viewer. The affirmation of self in open comparison with others is a foundational pillar of his artistic and existential path of human interaction. The concept of affirmation is frequent in the paths of figurative arts, as one thinks of artists who, spurred by an image, a word, a sudden thought, have found their expressive path, or those who have turned their inclination towards an unexpected passion, giving rise to creative journeys that mature over time with gradual progression. Enrico, by giving space to his talent and individuality, engages in an extensive experimentation that extends to a communion with others, with the community, embodying an accessible art, a direct and conscious relationship on a social level.

On the executive technical level, he chooses to transition from more defined forms to less evident ones, towards a non-form where the visual impact fades and transcends, precisely to provide ample space for the viewer's sensory experience, accessing keys of interpretation that can be scanned and freely evaluated. The technical choices are the result of concrete reworkings of images revisited by the mind, reinforced by a serial formula of oppositions and superimpositions studied and weighted with utmost precision and meticulousness. Sometimes the sequential contrast identifies a horizon line, beyond which thought is lost in a constant and continuous stream of stimuli and solicitations, always maintaining the primary motivational focus of his artistic creation, suggesting his own unique poetic, which surpasses and transcends any static formal imitation, supporting a clean and original style in the dominant connotative features. Enrico navigates through the pages of contemporary history and the creative innovations of the great Masters of the 20th century with passionate curiosity, making unusual and atypical modifications as an eclectic artist, tackling the reasons of art with an autonomous and non-emulative approach. In his artistic work, he tries to create an exclusive communicative opening. With the pictorial material, Enrico establishes and develops an interactive communication channel in a variable compositional mechanism that changes according to the times and evocative dynamics. He moves within each work between unconventional projects and proposals, never giving up his visual ideality, which is always present and always recognizable as a valuable "signature."

Enrico, a satisfied and fulfilled artist of exploration, maximizes action and gesture, evolving his research activity through pictorial material, which becomes the main protagonist of the creative process. He turns to and orients himself towards a plastic language, where the semantic coacervate assumes considerable importance through the timbral passage of dynamic energy, light, and color, which, poetically distributed, reinforce the representation, intended as a "field-sign-subject" to attribute and confer a new existential and phenomenological value to the scenic space. Thus, suspended atmospheres are born in the joint encounter of harmony between action, gesture, and matter, which merge and blur within a magical and imaginative spatiality. Enrico, an authoritative professional and refined connoisseur of the properties and secrets of painting, becomes passionate about offering multiple exploratory possibilities, converged in a complete and comprehensive synthesis with consistent foresight. Technique and manual skill, real, allusive, and suggestive visions are in service to a narrative that returns to another, unconscious dimension. Observing the works carefully, one delves into their soul, possessing a distinctive, unique, and inimitable timbre. The keen eye of the observer captures interior scenarios synthesized from human emotions, emerging in the essential and stylized pragmatism of the graphic stroke, always teetering between real and fantastical, almost representing the evolution dynamic of an enigmatic and mysterious metamorphosis, which ideally catalyzes concrete and imaginary events, reality, and invention, together. Enrico's art reaches the heart directly with a disruptive permeance because it constitutes the vector of many sensations and often.

The artist "Enrico Napoletano" creates commissioned works related to custom-made pieces and sculpture.
